Services for mothers and children victims of domestic violence

“The Smile of the Child” stands by every mother and her children, victims of domestic violence.

“The Smile of the Child” supports women who suffer domestic violence and their children by providing services aimed at their holistic support. The Smile works closely and has signed cooperation agreements with the General Secretariat for Family Policy and Gender Equality and the European Network against Violence. “The Smile of the Child” has the following services, which are provided to women victims of Domestic Violence and their children, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, nationwide and free of charge. Specifically:

• National SOS Children’s Hotline 1056, which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
• Immediate intervention for the immediate removal of victims of domestic violence and their transfer to a safe environment, while informing the competent police and prosecuting authorities.
• Provision of apartments for the accommodation of women and their children
• Covering material needs
• Medical monitoring of children and coverage of medical care for uninsured children
• Facilitation of meeting the educational needs of children
• Facilitating the mother’s access to employment
• European helpline for children and adolescents 116111
• Psychological support
• Transport with the Agency’s specialised Mobile Intensive Care Units for Newborns and Children
• Personalised Mental Health Services for Children and Adolescents, Victims of Domestic Violence

At the same time, there is a cooperation with the SAWA Help and Support Line, which provides interpretation services for Arabic-speaking persons in our country.
