Περιγραφή
JA Europe’s “Economic Opportunities for All (EOfA)” initiative aims to support and create the conditions to bridge the gap between education and work with a focus on young people (15-29 years old) who have reduced access in education and work opportunities. In this context, JA Greece creates and supports workplace integration actions or opportunities to develop entrepreneurship and self-employment.
The main objectives of the EOfA are as follows:
- Improving the employability of young people with fewer opportunities through targeted interventions, alongside training in horizontal skills and practical skills that are currently in demand in the labor market
- Increasing the employment opportunities available to young people with fewer opportunities, through agreements with employers
- Increasing access to the labor market by leveraging technology to find ways of networking, information, support and advice for young people with fewer opportunities
- Influencing policy-making processes and institutions to place the needs of young people with fewer opportunities higher on the agenda of social, labor and economic policies and public investment being made to have a greater positive impact on the employment opportunities offered to young people
- Strengthening the monitoring, evaluation and feedback mechanism with the aim of continuously monitoring the progress and conclusions of the EOfA initiative, as well as developing methods to further enhance the impact of the programme.
The EOfA initiative is implemented with the support of NN Group in 4 countries, specifically in Greece, Spain, Romania and the Netherlands. The period of implementation is set for 2021-2024 and overall the program aims to reach more than 221,000 Young People by 2024 and help them make the transition from education to work, in these 4 countries, with the possibility of extension to other countries after the first years of implementation.
In Greece, the EOfA initiative is implemented by Junior Achievement Greece and is aimed at young people with fewer opportunities (such as refugees/immigrants, people with vocational training, disabled people, etc.), who are supported in terms of the following:
- To be inspired and become more aware of entrepreneurship issues, their future options and the career paths they can choose
- To prepare for the future of work by acquiring useful knowledge, skills, and abilities
- To succeed in their endeavours, gaining real work experience and applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired, be it jobs, setting up a business or self-employment
