Acting for Peace - Theatre workshops for youth 13-20 years old

In the framework of the new Programme Acting for Peace, UNICEF in collaboration with the Young People’s Stage of the National Theatre invite young refugees 13-20 years old from Ukraine and other countries of origin to sign up and participate in a series of theatre workshops which will also include Greek adolescents and youth.

Through the workshops, participants will contribute to the creation of a performance that will be presented to the public during the period October-December 2023 at theatre REX. The performance will aim to raise awareness about the effects of war on the lives of young people, promote messages for peace and strengthen social cohesion.

The workshops will be organized by the Coordinator of the Programme and the Young People’s Stage Ms. Sofia Vgenopoulou, with the participation of a team of theatre educators and professional actors of the National Theatre.

The workshops will take place every Monday 16:00 – 19:00 and Friday 16:00 – 19:00 at the National Theatre premises.

Starting date: Monday, 20 March 2023 

  • 1st workshop cycle: Mondays 20, 27 March and 3 & 10 April
  • 2nd workshop cycle: Fridays 24, 31 March and 7 April
  • 3rd workshop cycle: Mondays 24 April and 1, 8 & 15 May
  • 4th workshop cycle: Fridays 28 April and 5, 12 & 19 May

Additional workshop cycles will follow.

Workshops will be held in English and Greek.
