Registrations open for the new cycle of the program Youth Empowerment and Self Reliance Opportunities to UAC reaching Adulthood

IRC – UNHCR Youth Empowerment and Self Reliance Opportunities to UAC reaching Adulthood is an integration program that aims to support youth between 18-21 years old in their transition to adulthood. It is oriented toward refugees and asylum seekers, residing in the broader area of Athens in shelters for Unaccompanied Children, Semi-Independent Living Apartments or precarious settings. Our approach is holistic and includes the below pillar services:

  1. Psychosocial Support
  2. Intensive Greek Lessons (exploring further educational pathways -typical/non-typical- with the possibility of a Scholarship)
  3. Job Counselling (linking to Vocational Training opportunities and Job Vacancies)
  4. Support in navigating the housing market 

Languages we serve: Somali, Urdu, Farsi, Arabic, French, English, Ukrainian

2nd Cohort: June-September 2023

Upon request, we hold info sessions regarding the program with potential participants, who are already or will soon become adults. This might take the form of a visit to shelters, community centers etc.
