Description

The new Positive Voice Ref Checkpoint service welcomes refugees, migrants and asylum seekers at 200 Michail Voda for free HIV and hepatitis B & C testing, sexual health counseling and linkage to health services in 9 languages.

The significant difficulties that mobile populations face in accessing health services and the lack of modern, inclusive sexual health information materials in their language created the need to intervene with an initiative that responds to the needs of these communities. Ref Checkpoint aims to give access to free testing and counseling – without stigma or discrimination.

Examination, information, consultation and liaison services are provided in 9 languages: Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, Dari, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and English. The team of advisors is made up of members of the communities we address and they serve each person in their native language, in a friendly environment in the center of Athens.
