Description

Since 1953, the Educational Health Station of the Hellenic Red Cross Nursing Division continues its Primary Health Care Actions aiming at prevention and health promotion in vulnerable groups of population – refugees, migrants, roma, civilians without health insurance – adapting its programs to the existing needs.
Recently, the increased number of refugees using our services has led in additions to EHS human resources: a general doctor is now on duty two days a week so that the needs of both, families and unaccompanied adults, are adequately met. Two interpreters, Arabic and Farsi, are also available every day.

Services provided by:

1. Medical Assistance

2. Health Promotion Activities:

Promote healthy living to parents, adolescents, children, women, chronic patients. To achieve this goal, educational activities are organised and implemented: baby care, breastfeeding, first aid, personal hygiene, family planning, prevention of breast and cervical cancer, hypertension, fever, sexually transmitted diseases, access to the National Health System.

3. Guiding and facilitating the access of the beneficiaries to other Primary and Secondary Health services, accompanied by interpreters, when needed, in cooperation with ACCREF.
