KMOP invites you to discuss how the inclusion of people with a migrant background can benefit the whole society, at the event it organizes on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, from 17:30-21:00, at Serafio (19 Ehelidon & 144 Piraeus, Athens) , with the theme “Inclusion and protection of people with a migrant background: The contribution of civil society organizations”.

The purpose of the event is to bring together Civil Society organizations and professionals in the field to highlight actions that strengthen the protection and inclusion of immigrants and refugees in Greek society. It will also contribute to the public debate in favor of the empowerment of migrants and refugees in topics such as education, employment, sports, culture and the arts. Furthermore, the opportunities as well as the challenges encountered on the road to social inclusion will be explored. In the same context, the event aspires to inform the public about the importance and mutual benefits that can arise from this expanded social participation.
The Secretary General of Vulnerable Citizens and Institutional Protection of the Ministry of Immigration and Asylum, Iraklis Moskof, will give an introductory speech.
During the event, representatives from various organizations will discuss the barriers and challenges especially facing immigrant and refugee children in our country. Actions aimed at the practical inclusion of immigrants and refugees in various social issues will also be presented.

From the beginning to the end of the event, the public will have the opportunity to meet, interact and be informed by representatives of organizations such as: ActionAid Hellas, ARSIS – Social Organization for Youth Support, Doctors Without Borders, Network for the Rights of the Child, ELIX , Tastes of Damascus – Zaatar, METAdrasi, Orizontes, Solidarity Now, and The Home Project regarding their actions in support of immigrants and refugees.
The speeches will be in Greek and some in English.
