Two years since the peak of the “refugee crisis” in Greece, the Greek state is gradually taking over the management and financing of the various aspects of the reception and integration system. As a result, many international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that came to contribute to the – then – humanitarian emergency are now beginning to scale back their activities or prepare to leave the country.
