Shelter for the protection of unaccompanied minor girls

Description

ΟΙΚΟS is a Shelter for unaccompanied minors, fully equipped and  staffed in order to provide a shelter to 21 UAM girls. We decided to call it “OIKOS” from the Greek word that means “Home”, as our aspiration was to create a home and not only a “shelter” for them. Our OIKOS is staffed by experienced and highly qualified professionals such as:

  • Social workers
  • Psychologists
  • Educators
  • Interpreters
  • Caregivers 24/7, so there is always someone present
  • Lawyer

What do we offer to our girls?

  • Medical care
  • Non formal education and recreational activities in house
  • Access to formal education
  • Educational and recreational activities,
  • Monthly allowance for  personal expenses
  • Monthly card public transportation
  • Psycho-social support
  • Legal support
  • Workshops

The unaccompanied minor girls are placed by the General Secretariat for the Protection of Unaccompanied Minors
