STEPS FORWARD

Actions to support young people aged 17-27 outside of employment and education in Athens

The STEPS FORWARD program is an integrated pilot intervention project for the social and work integration of young residents of Athens, aged 17-27, who for various reasons face accumulated objective and subjective consequences of social exclusion and at the same time are currently outside employment, education and training.

The Plan’s services are based on the personalized and holistic approach of each individual case and include services such as:

• orientation and information
• focused psychosocial support;
• interface with other support services, agencies and organizations
• interface with educational services, training programs, informal education, etc.
• skill enhancement
• interfacing with businesses – promoting employment
• support finding work or accessing training opportunities
• application of the “prepared” and “supervised placement” models for taking up and maintaining a job for people with multiple burdens or difficulties, in close cooperation with the employer.
