The UNICEF Greece Office and Junior Achievement Greece are pleased to announce the launch of FunDoo, a new digital skills development tool for youth! The tool will be offered free of charge in Greek and English through UNICEF’s U-Report platform and is under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Vocational Education, Training, Lifelong Learning and Youth.
FunDoo is a digital tool that aims to equip teenagers and young adults aged 15 – 24 with 21st century skills such as critical thinking, communication and emotional skills, creativity, etc. At the same time, it provides useful career guidance information as well as exercises for the development of business skills.
All 15-24 year olds living in Greece can access the tool by simply texting ‘FunDoo’ via WhatsApp, Viber, Instagram and Facebook Messenger. Users then interact with a chatbot through a series of 9 fun and interactive exercises exclusively designed to focus on the process of learning through play.
The content is written in simple and understandable language and helps users to carry out easy and short exercises to gradually develop specific skills that meet the modern demands of the labor market. Upon completion of all 9 exercises, users can receive a Certificate of Attendance.
FunDoo’s pedagogical approach is based on the principles of experiential learning, giving the user the ability to complete each exercise in the order they want and in the time they want. It was designed with the global expertise of UNICEF, which chose Greece as the 1st country in Europe and the 4th country in the world to pilot the tool. The adaptation of FunDoo to the needs of young people living in Greece was based on the results of the survey on the transition from education to the labor market conducted in September 2022 through U-Report Greece, as well as a series of exploratory discussions with groups of young people and teachers held in the 1st quarter of 2023.
