The Department of Social Integration of the Municipality of Athens provides prevention but also intervenes to support the homeless population of the city, which has increased in recent years as a result of the economic crisis.
The aim is to accommodate in suitable apartments families with children, the elderly, pregnant women and generally people with a high degree of vulnerability, families who are homeless or potentially homeless or are being evicted. Priority is given to families who know the Greek language relatively well in order to have better access to the labor market.
