International Children’s Day: 2,055 refugee children received weillies through ACCMR
November 20: International Children’s Day today – It reminds us that every child has the right to grow up with love and respect!
The Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee issues, continuing last year’s successful initiative, received this year a donation of 2,055 pairs of children’s wellies which were sent to refugee children living in Athens and in reception centers outside urban areas.
More specifically, ACCMR members made sure that the donation reached those in need:at three accommodation facilities for unaccompanied minors and facilities that support refugee children in Athens, at Schisto and Ritsona Accommodation Sites and at the Reception and Identification Center of Malakasa. Also, we especially thank the Refugee Education’s Coordinators of Attica (SEP) as with their contribution, the wellies reached many schools in Attica.
Many thanks to all the organizations for their response: Diotima, Doctors of the World, Elix – Voluntary Work Programs, ECHO100PLUS, Ukrainian Women’s Union in Greece, METAdrasi, SolidarityNow, Pigi KOINSEP, Greek Forum of Migrants.
