The goal of Tdh Hellas is to contribute to the improvement of the living conditions of vulnerable children and to help them gain quality access to their basic rights through the provision of immediate services, capacity building and advocacy / awareness campaigns. Depending on the program framework, Tdh Hellas services are mainly aimed at children and families, socially vulnerable groups such as migrants, asylum seekers, humanitarian beneficiaries, refugees, victims of trafficking, victims of torture, street children, Roma, detainees, homeless, women, single-parent families, the long-term unemployed, people with different religious backgrounds, sexual orientation, gender identity, or mental health disorders, mobility difficulties, as well as people with social and / or economic exclusion.

Since 2016 Tdh Hellas is active in:

• Support for young refugees and asylum seekers and their carers, in Attica, Thessaly, central Macedonia and Epirus, by providing child protection services including case management, legal aid, housing, mental health support and psychosocial care, development skills etc.

• Implement programs that support children in detention or homelessness, victims of torture, victims of human trafficking, victims of gender-based violence and other forms of exploitation and abuse.

• Development of projects for the benefit of the general population, for the protection of children from abuse, as well as for restorative justice (child-friendly justice).

It also develops programs to strengthen the capacity of private and public sector professionals in child safety and protection.

Terre des hommes Hellas is part of the international child protection organization Terre des hommes Foundation (Tdh), based in Lausanne, which has been active for the last 61 years in more than 40 countries. Until the founding of the Greek NGO, in February 2018, the international organization Tdh operated in Greece (Epirus and Thessaloniki) with programs for the immigrant population that included housing, case management, legal aid, training and non-formal education.
