Founded in 1998, the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) is an International Medical Non-Governmental Organization working on the front lines to provide relief to people living in areas affected by humanitarian crises in the Middle East and elsewhere. Since 2015, SAMS has been providing healthcare in Greece to vulnerable population groups such as refugees, immigrants, low-income Greeks and other communities (LGBTQ+, Roma, homeless people) with specialized services in Paediatrics, Gynecology, General Pathology, Dentistry and Ophthalmology-Optometry in the Aegean islands, Attica and Thessaloniki. Since 2020 SAMS Hellas runs the Mobile Medical Team program with Pediatrics and Gynecological clinics, as well as Dental Missions, aiming in an integrated approach to medical care in the form of regular clinics, primary health coverage, educational programs, strengthening the inclusion of the child population in Public Greek Education Structures, therapy programs through the Arts and sports and others .
