CRWI Diotima
The Diotima Center presents in Greece the #ActNow digital campaign, implemented within the framework of the transnational LILA program.
The campaign will be shown simultaneously in Spain, Italy, Greece and Belgium in November 2023, on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Gender-Based Violence. You can find it here in English, and in Greek, Italian, Spanish and Dutch, on the social media of: Diotima Center, ABD, ACRA, Payoke, four specialized – in issues of gender equality and violence – actors.
Through the 3 videos of #ActNow we seek to inform and sensitize the general public about invisible forms of gender violence. We also emphasize the importance of community support for survivors and the necessity to take a stand when we witness incidents of abuse.
In all the videos we watch everyday conversations. We see how it develops on Instagram, a relationship of manipulation, abuse and sexual exploitation of an underage girl by a “loverboy”. We watch as an immigrant woman is encouraged, in a viber group chat, to talk about the intimate partner violence she is experiencing. We listen to the telephone conversation of two young men. When one recognizes their friend’s violating and abusive behaviors, he reacts and takes a stand.
