ECHO HUB Athens is a community space for people with lived experience of displacement. We offer various services and training opportunities to help people find their place in the local society and the labor market.

Educational program: We offer intensive Greek language classes from beginner to advanced levels and sponsor official Greek certificates. We also provide an intensive English program and computer classes to enhance employability.

Bureaucratic hurdles: Our Social Integration team (three livelihood officers and two lawyers) adds skills and manpower to our HUB services. The team offers legal advice, access to social benefits, assistance with documentation related to the integration process, access to education and scholarships, employability support, and other services.

We continue to run vocational training workshops to create employment opportunities. This term we have scheduled a second ‘Elderly Care’ Training with the German Malteser Hilfsdienst, a third intensive Coding and Programming Bootcamp, and a TEFL teacher training with English as a second language course. We also sponsor a part-time street lawyer who works with homeless people.

To build community we run an English Conversation Club in our multilingual library, Ping Pong in our yard, and organise Cultural Excursions and Fieldtrips.
