UNHCR: Inter-agency Protection Monitoring of Refugees in Greece - Key Findings 2024

The Protection Monitoring exercise is a survey carried out with a focus mainly on recognized refugees, subsidiary protection and temporary protection status holders, covering a wide range of information to capture data and monitor the situation of refugees in Greece and their future plans. These data include demographic profile, specific needs, protection incidents, accommodation, employment, education, health, access to information/support networks, intentions and priority needs.

The objective is to generate a solid, evidence-based narrative to inform advocacy, preparedness, planning and resource allocation to respond to the needs of refugees in Greece, with particular regards to their protection and integration.

You can access the relevant Power BI dashboard HERE where you can filter the data by nationality, time frame, legal status, municipality and gender. The dashboard automatically updates on a daily basis with new submissions. Please see below the guidance on how to use it.

The findings of 2022, 2023 and 2024 are available on UNHCR Operational Data Portal HERE.

Please note that the protection monitoring exercise will continue throughout 2025, to compare findings and identify trends between years.
