In collaboration with the Hellenic Council for Refugees and Save the Children International, a thematic report on Refugee Education in Greece was published entitled Back to school – refugee children in Greece are denied the right to education, highlighting the chronic barriers children face in the country to have access to (quality) education.
These barriers, as also seen during the discussion organized by the ESP and other NGOs in April 2021 and highlighted in this report, have become more apparent for refugee and asylum-seeking children due to the restrictions related to Covid-19, as distance education was not an option for children without internet access and necessary technical equipment.
