SocialInnov is an Urban Nonprofit that focuses on eliminating the digital skills gap and high unemployment in Greece. The aim is to build better learning experiences for the education of all social groups, in order to provide them with a better social and professional future, while strengthening the local community. The new digital age requires special skills and knowledge that everyone can now acquire without any exclusion.
The mission of START – a Microsoft-sponsored initiative – is to provide access to a full suite of programs and services to develop innovative ideas and digital skills to promote technological development and create viable technology businesses. The program aims to bring new life to the local community and bring people closer together under one roof of education and culture, open to all, wherever they come from.
Daily activities are educational activities for all levels of knowledge and all ages, with courses ranging from a wide range of digital skills from simple computer use and writing to programming and robotics.
The ultimate goal of the program is to create a multilevel space that can provide even more educational and training activities for new technology and entrepreneurship in the long run. The action plan will evolve and be designed to serve the needs of the local community at all times.
The activities are aimed at all the residents of the municipality but also for vulnerable social groups. Training programs and all activities are available free of charge. All that is needed is a registration. Upon completion of the courses, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
