The aim of Code + Create is to encourage young refugees and Greeks to learn and collaborate through open learning labs. We offer two classes equipped with with open technologies and open source software and five open courses available at Code + Create was designed and has been  implemented by the Open Technologies Organization and the FCA.

 The main objectives of the program are:

  • To provide young refugees who do not attend school or do not have access to other educational activities, a solid foundation in digital and technological skills and start-up tools for more sophisticated exploration and / or teaching in information technology.
  • To provide a common space for refugees and Greek youth to interact, learn and collaborate in digital projects.
  • Create a learning environment where young people are encouraged to learn, connect and solve problems.

Each class has two trainers and a class assistant. All educational material is in English and is available with open license and free of charge in an electronic learning management system (Moodle –

The classes will take place at the Municipal Matrket of Kypseli.

Participation/referral information

Participants are selected from the Athens area. The two active learning classes are equipped with tools such as educational robots, Raspberry Pi, Nodemcu, Edison, 3D printers, projectors and laptop for each participant.

Classes last for three hours and take place three times per week. The duration of the program is 8 weeks.
