The training on the identification of possible victims of human trafficking was completed with great participation
Did you know that there are currently 50 million modern day slaves in the world?
That ¼ of the victims are children?
That around 89,000 people live in conditions of modern slavery in Greece and that over 50% of recorded incidents in 2019 involved sexual exploitation?
A total of 100 people, 60 municipal employees and 40 workers in civil society organizations and teachers, had the opportunity to learn about illegal trafficking and human trafficking in the context of a seminar organized from March 11 to 14, 2024 by the Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee issues of the City of Athens | ACCMR in collaboration with the Migrant Integration Center of the City of Athens and the organization A21.
During the seminar delivered by Mr. Kontoudis Dimitris, Training Director of A21 Greece, the participants were informed about the possible signs of a human trafficking incident, the basic practices in communicating with a potential victim and also the actions they can take with the aim of protecting and caring for the potential victim.
Also, a very important tool for all of us, professionals and non-professionals, was presented, LINE 1109, through which information is provided in case there are suspicions of a possible incident of human trafficking.
