IOM Brussels Podcast: ACCMR talks about coordination as the key to integration
ACCMR, invited by the IOM Brussels to participate in a podcast, talks about the importance of having active coordination of stakeholders working in the field of migrant and refugee integration. The interview is part of the launching activities of Brussels Employment Office (Actiris) new platform.
It all started in February 2021 when IOM Belgium invited ACCMR to contribute to the development of the new platform of the Brussels Employment Agency (Actiris), which has been supported by IOM Belgium*.
“Nowadays, we know it is clear that the more we strengthen the coordination among the state, the stakeholders, the better responses we can get for the beneficiaries”, says Georgios Sarelakos, Project Manager, Athens Coordination Center for Migrant and Refugee Issues (ACCMR).
In the podcast, ACCMR draws upon its own experiences as a leading successful coordination practice in Athens, and talks about its future ambitions to further grow and strengthen these coordination efforts in Athens and at national level amongst all stakeholders through the Cities Network for Integration (CNI) initiative.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) Greece, a member of the ACCMR, has also participated in the interview, underlining the positive outcomes of coordinated efforts with the City of Athens and other actors in the field of migrant and refugee integration.
* Through the Technical Support Instrument (formerly Structural Reform Support Programme), IOM Belgium supports Actiris in cooperation with the European Commission Directorate General for Structural Reform Support.
