ACCMR Digital Job Fair Tourism & Hospitality: Businesses and future employees promote equal job opportunities
On Friday 14 May the ACCMR Livelihoods Committee | Municipality of Athens with the support of the International Organization for Migration and the Ministry of Migration and Asylum under the HELIOS Program *, organize a digital Job Fair in Tourism and Hospitality with the aim of informing potential employees and helping them with their integration into the Greek labour market.
The Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum in charge of integration, Mrs. Sofia Voultepsi, will open the event. In the opening session will also participate Mr. Gianluca Rocco, Chief of Mission and Regional Response Coordinator/ IOM Greece, Mrs. Melina Daskalaki, Executive Advisor for Migrants and Refugees/ City of Athens and President of ADDMA (Athens Development & Destination Management Agency) and Mrs. Ioanna Glykou, Head of Sosioeconomic Integration Department of the Social Integration Directorate/Ministry of Migration and Asylum.
The event is mainly aimed at asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants interested in working in the Tourism and Hospitality sector.
Meeting the world of Tourism and Hospitality
During the event, companies and specialized NGOs will provide information on practical issues related to the opportunities and challenges in Tourism and Hospitality in Greece. What skills can make a candidate stand out, how the work culture and services provided vary depending on the type and size of the business, what are the employment rights and obligations of an employee in tourism and hospitality, are some of the topics that will be discussed. In addition, refugees and migrants will share their own employment experience with prospective employees.
Following a mutual benefit approach, companies will also have the opportunity to learn about equal opportunities and diversity in the labor market.
Claiming a job in Tourism and Hospitality
In parallel with the conference the Job Fair in Tourism and Hospitality will host companies that will have dedicated digital kiosks, so as to run interviews with asylum seekers, migrants and refugees who are interested to find a job in the tourism and hospitality industry in Greece, based on selection criteria.

* A few words about the event: The Job Fair is an initiative of the members of the Economic Empowerment/Livelihoods Committee of the ACCMR (Athens Coordination Center for Migrant & Refugee issues).
