Make Racism History Festival

The Ivorian Community of Greece and New Women Connectors cordially invites you to participate in our Storytelling events to Make Racism History.

Make Racism History Festival is organised by the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) between 10-17 October 2023.

Different member organisations will organise events that week throughout Europe to address racism and promote transformative and enabling approaches to make racism history.

New Women Connectors (NWC) and The Ivorian Community in Greece (CIG), two migrant/refugee-led organisations, have decided to join forces and do a collaborative project in the Netherlands and Greece during this week.

Our objective is to highlight the connection between racism and migration through the powerful approach of storytelling. We believe personal stories of lived experience have the transformative power to touch people’s heart and soul and can bring new perspectives to existing challenges.

We hope that with these storytelling events, we will plant seeds for a more inclusive and non-racist Europe.

The project exists of two parts:

2 storytelling events in Athens, Greece on 13th of October and Utrecht, the Netherlands on 15th of October between 20:00-22:00 (local time).

The events will be followed by an online campaign on social media with small video clips of the 2 events with powerful messages from our storytellers to “make racism history”. The campaign will be published at the end of October in light of the Dutch elections, to raise awareness on racism and try to create a positive narrative on migration.

The Doors open at 19:30
