The Efivos is a European Erasmus+ KA3 program promoting inclusive education and common values among young people by raising awareness and enhancing their skills in media literacy. The name EFIVOS (Encouraging and Fostering Inclusive Values among youth by increasing awareness and enhancing KnOwledge and Skills requirements in a digital era) is the Greek word for "teenager" and has been chosen as the acronym of our project to highlight and keep in mind who will be the main beneficiaries of the activities. The program is carried out by 7 partners from 6 different countries in which it will be implemented.

The main objective of the project is to empower young people from 13-22 years old from disadvantaged backgrounds such as migrant and ethnic minority groups to equally participate in today’s information society by strengthening their voice through their involvement and education with various media, and by taking the media in their own hands. The second objective is to increase the skills of professionals to implement digital media training programs that will be effective for the specific target groups. An important aspect of this project is that the educational materials, other outcomes of the project, and the trainers will be available for further activities beyond the project's lifetime.

The project aims to upscale a project called “Young Journalists”, an initiative of the Network for Children’s Rights, which was developed at a local level in Athens, Greece. In the framework of this project, refugee, migrant, and Greek youth are empowered to run and manage their own printed newspaper called “Migratory Birds” which is distributed as an insert with the Greek newspaper "Ι Efimerida ton Sintakton", and includes articles in English, Greek, Arabic, Urdu, and Farsi. The young participants also had their own online web-radio called “Dandelion". The above good practice of “Young Journalist” will shift and expand from a printed to a digital form.
