The Social Integration Department provides prevention and intervenes to support the city's homeless population, which has grown in recent years as a result of the economic crisis. The aim is to accommodate families with children, elderly, pregnant and generally highly vulnerable people, including families who are homeless or potentially homeless. Priority is given to relatively familiar with the Greek language families in order to have better access to the labor market. The City of Athens Job Center operating in parallel to the Social Integration Department, supports with free Greek language classes. Beneficiaries required to be Athens residents.
