Description

The Day Care Centers for the Homeless are staffed with social scientists, who undertake the first reception of the beneficiaries with the aim of the individualized diagnosis of each one and the best possible service.

Within the center, there is a primary care and medical coverage clinic providing first aid and referring the needs of the homeless who visit the clinic to other hospitals or social services. In addition, in the context of medical care, there is a program of direct supervised treatment in HIV-positive people (Directly Observed Treatment).

The provision of medical services is an important part of the center, as living on the street results in 60% of visitors needing medical help.

Given the holistic approach applied in the program, in addition to medical interventions, visitors are provided with psychosocial support, work counseling while, at the same time, it is possible to clean clothes, bathroom, supply clothes from the wardrobe and use the space for a coffee.
