AntetokouBros’ vision is for the Antetokounmpo name to be recognized for its social support and family contribution, not just basketball.
The Antetokounmpo’s goal is to help as many vulnerable people as possible – prioritizing Greece and Africa. Moreover, Giannis has already started trying (and this is something that will continue to be built in the years to come) to act as a role model for the next generations and show that if fight hard for your dreams, nothing is impossible.
The Antetokounmpo’s community commitment unfolds by creating and supporting, a variety of respective projects and by developing a sustainable mechanism, which will run for many years. By establishing a wide range of collaborations and social acts, AntetokounBros will continually help people and provide them with opportunities at all levels. Particularly for this reason, the CAF (Charles Antetokounmpo Foundation) is created, in memory of their father, Charles Antetokounmpo.
The first step towards this direction is the launch of the AntetokounBros Academy in collaboration with Nike, Onassis Foundation and Eurohoops Oragnization.
Why setting up this Academy?
Through the AntetokounBros Academy, the Antetokounmpos want to provide young kids with the opportunities which they didn’t have when they were younger. Specifically, in underserved communities.
Through the act of an academy and the relations with coaches and teammates, a great step for the socialization of those kids is achieved by learning how to collaborate and be productive as part of a group.
Besides basketball, which is the motivation and the reference point in this effort, AntetokounBros know that their involvement and engagement with kids will help create a balanced character, learn to work hard, be better teammates, and become better people. Not only on the basketball court, but also at home, at school and within the community.
The AntetokounBros Academy is a journey. A life-changing journey that will offer the kids opportunity, self-empowerment and life skills so that they achieve their best potential.
