“Vocational Training for Refugees and Immigrants” is an Action implemented by APOSTOLI, within the framework of the Program “ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING TO VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES IN ATHENS”, with the support and funding of the Organization “Kerk in Actie”.
The purpose of the action is to enable refugees and immigrants to acquire technical skills that will help them smoothly integrate into society and the labor market. Since the beginning of the Program in 2022, three training cycles have been completed to date. A total of seventy (70) graduates acquired new technical skills in the catering and hospitality sectors and most of them have already found employment, thus improving their standard of living. The fourth implementation cycle of the Program will take place in November-December 2023.
The courses are free and conducted by distinguished Chefs and F&B and Housekeeping lecturers at a School of Tourism and Catering of a certified Private Educational Center (I.E.K.) in the center of Athens. Participants mainly practice for 60 hours in one of the two specialties: (1) “Kitchen Assistant” or (2) “Hotel Services”.
