“From thinking to action: volunteering in the refugee response”
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world” (Mahatma Ghandi).
Here in Greece, regardless of what you do and where you are, you would have heard about or seen the struggles of ordinary women, men, girls and boys who have fled conflict, violence and persecution and arrived on these shores. As Greeks, we can feel helplessness, frustration or apathy about it all. However you feel, we want you to be a part of a conversation we are having.
On the 1st February, 6 -7pm, join us to hear the stories of Greeks involved in the refugee response.
1. Lydia Politi - Childcare Volunteer, The Pomegranate Project.
2. Eleni Zoi - Greek Teacher, The Pomegranate Project.
3. Marilena Tsadima - Volunteer, ActionAid Hellas Community Center.
Hear the personal journeys of fellow citizens: from reading and hearing about the refugee response, to action. Ordinary women with extraordinary - and in some cases, life changing journeys.
Hear it unfiltered: their perceptions – their own beliefs and attitudes and their advice for any Greeks wanting to translate thinking into more, to help build a more loving and fair society for us all. And how to get started.
